Inter-Faith Meditation Flash Mob

Meditation is a great way to relieve stress, relax, reconnect with your spiritual side, get closer to nature and the Earth, etc. Whatever the reason, anyone can meditate and the best way to do it is together! We welcome all faiths, cultures, ages, and all walks of life to join us for this groundbreaking event inspired by the people at MedMob!

When the Geisel Library bell tower tolls at 1:00 pm, we invite you to meditate silently with us for 30 minutes. You can meditate in any way you want: sitting, standing, walking, etc. You can join us for all of it, part of it, or come just to hang out. Come with your own deepest intentions for yourself, your community, & our planet.

After 30 minutes, we will begin the 5-minute "Sound Bath." Meditators can use "Om," "Ong," "God," "Allah," Ma," "Yeah," or any other sound or mantra that resonates deeply within yourself.

We are coming together on the lawn next to Library Walk and the Price Center Fountain and between the Bookstore, Sun God Lounge, and Price Center Theater where the Zone does Tai Chi on Fridays. (I hope that is enough description.) If you're still confused about where this will be, check out this map zoomed into this very conspicuous patch of green.

When: Wednesday, April 18th
Time #1: 1-3PM
Place #1: Red Shoe Room in the Sun God Lounge next door to Shogun in Price Center West

RSVP on Facebook!
Time #2: 8PM

What: We're inviting everyone and anyone to join us for a discussion after the Dalai Lama's talk on "The Global Impact of Climate Change: Balance Through Universal Responsibility, Compassion and Human Consciousness" at UCSD's RIMAC. All are welcome to come whether you are attending the talk earlier in the day or not. Join us anytime for either of the times between 1-3PM in the Red Shoe Room in the Sun God Lounge, or at 8PM in the Thich Nhat Hanh Room in the Old Student Center.
His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama has taught the importance of compassionate thought, ethics, and universal responsibility in motivating our relations with our neighbors and our relationship to the natural environment. How can each one of us incorporate these principles or values into our lives and actions to prevent suffering and ensure the sustainability of our planet and its natural resources?
